White House Condemns 'Democrat Hoax' as More Jeffrey Epstein Images Disclosed
Democratic lawmakers have made public a new tranche of what they termed "disturbing" photographs from the property of adjudicated sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, depicting notably Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, and ex-UK prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
The first release of 19 images—a portion of which have been previously circulated—combined with another 70 released later on Friday account for a small number of the nearly 100,000 images released to the House investigative panel, which is examining the actions and ties of Epstein.
The shamed investor died by an apparent self-inflicted death in a New York prison cell in 2019 after being indicted on sex-trafficking offenses.
High-Profile Individuals in the Photos
Among the high-profile individuals seen in the initial batch are celebrities featuring film director Woody Allen; Microsoft founder Bill Gates; and Richard Branson, originator of the Virgin business group.
Donald Trump appears in three of the initial 19 images. In one, he is pictured with six women, whose faces are blacked out.
Administration Reaction
The White House responded to the release in a statement, accusing Democrats of selectively "hand-picking" the images for partisan aims and to "seek to establish a false storyline."
"That partisan falsehood against President Trump has been repeatedly debunked," a presidential representative remarked, asserting that "this presidency has accomplished more for Epstein's victims than Democrats have ever done by frequently urging disclosure, disclosing numerous documents of documents, and demanding additional probes into Epstein's liberal connections."
Democratic Lawmaker Comment
The images were published lacking captions, but as stated by a Democratic representative from California and senior member of the investigative panel, they elicit additional doubts about Epstein's connections to affluent people.
"The moment has come to halt this White House cover-up and deliver justice to the victims of Jeffrey Epstein and his influential associates," he stated in a release.
The release of these documents comes as the oversight committee pressing on with its investigation into the affair.
