The Streaming Giant Chooses Spot-On Star for Bentham in the Hit Series Season 3

The Secret Organization is geared up to play a huge role in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, though the real showdown won’t unfold until the next season, and a beloved, audience-beloved member has now been chosen.

Netflix announced this week that the talented performer is now part of the One Piece season 3 cast and will portray Bentham. This character has the ability to transform into an exact copy of any person they’ve laid a hand on with their right hand. Escola, who is identifies as non-binary and prefers they/them pronouns, will play a version of that character reinterpreted as non-binary, rather than as a drag performer, in the real-life adaptation, unlike the initial comic and anime.

Escola will work alongside several other new cast members tasked with bringing the group to reality, featuring head Mr. 0, played by the seasoned performer, an emerging star as another operative, and an accomplished actor, who also joins the cast as King Nefertari Cobra of the desert kingdom.

Though Bon Clay is a key figure of Baroque Works, the individual won’t appear until One Piece season 3. With the second season set to cover the Little Garden segment, this represents a major departure in the timing of their first appearance, one that could signal further changes to the story’s structure.

Escola’s blend of sharp comedic timing and deep sensitivity makes them a ideal selection for the role. Along with their recent voice performance in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they earned widespread acclaim and several accolades for creating and performing in the popular theatrical show Oh Mary!, showcasing the versatility they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s widely praised characters.

The streaming service’s real-life One Piece series is due to premiere for its second season on March 10th, 2026.
