Star Denies Anti-Vaxxer Position After Lending His Voice To Contentious Covid Film

The "Taken" star has lent his voice to a feature-length documentary that casts doubt on the safety of vaccines and commends former government figure RFK Jr.

The Documentary's Provocative Origins

Called "Plague of Corruption," the documentary is inspired by a well-known publication co-authored by a disgraced researcher, who rose to infamy during the health crisis for assertions that the virus was a result of a problematic version of the seasonal immunization.

The publication's co-author, a producer, has penned books with controversial radio host a known commentator. Heckenlively recently posted praising Neeson's involvement in the documentary.

A Firm Statement

A spokesperson for Liam Neeson have provided a statement firmly refuting suggestions that he subscribes to anti-vax beliefs.

"Many understand that misconduct can exist within the pharmaceutical industry, but that cannot be confused with being against vaccines," the response states. "Liam never has been, and is not, anti-vax. His extensive work with Unicef reinforces his long-held support for worldwide vaccination initiatives."

The statement noted that the actor was not involved in crafting the film's narrative and that concerns about its assertions should be directed to the producers.

Major Claims In the Documentary

As presented, the voiceover read by Neeson features several strong statements:

  • It claims that pro-vaccine voices have called for "blind obedience" to health authorities.
  • It argues that "research has become dangerously influenced by politics."
  • Kennedy is shown claiming, "The major issue with vaccines is that they just aren't properly vetted."
  • It takes aim at stay-at-home orders, arguing they caused psychological harm that cost thousands of lives.
  • Concerning pandemic shots, it mentions a perspective that they were "rushed to market" and seen as "dangerous experiments."

Past Controversy and Recent Issues

The film also references a historical film about HIV drug testing on children, which was subsequently the topic of a BBC apology by the broadcaster for violations of guidelines.

Last month, RFK Jr called on the CDC to change its official position that there is no link between vaccines and autism spectrum disorder. This supposed link is repeated in the film, despite a new report from the WHO stating no evidence has been found.

A Previous Record of Advocacy

Standing in contrast to the documentary's narrative, Neeson has in the past shown strong support for vaccines in his capacity as a charity ambassador.

Two years ago, he referred to vaccines as "an incredible human success story," stating that "The conversation about vaccines in lately has overlooked how much benefit they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest human endeavors in our history."

The film ends with Neeson's voice saying, "This isn't the end of our journey. It is the beginning of a new chapter."
