I'll stamp all over 'legitimate combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua
Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-bout contest which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "break" the American as the two fighters confronted each other to publicize next month's heavyweight fight.
Former two time world boxing king Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's arena on 19 December.
Boxer's Mindset
"I will damage his features and damage his physique. My goal is to show my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I'm going to really want to cause him pain. That's my intention."
Respectful Exchange
In spite of those words, a composed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually known for his dramatics - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.
Jake Paul instead attacked ex Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, targeted UK opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul victory.
"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he showed up," Joshua said.
"I respect him for that."
Serious Opponent
Despite saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his opponent's fighting skills.
"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he remarked.
Paul's History
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mainly fought MMA fighters or faded names since becoming pro.
He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Commercial Attraction
Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter is still one of boxing's largest financial successes, regularly earning massive earnings.
Forecast and Belief
The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in rounds four or five and claimed he would stop the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.
"It's going to be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.
Size Disparity
As the two fighters met for the traditional face-off, with their height and weight contrast on show, it drove home just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is truly happening.
