Football Analyst Chris Sutton Battles Artist Olly Murs in Premier League Predictions
Arsenal's 10-game victorious run was ended by Sunderland before the global break, however will the Premier League frontrunners bounce back against north London rivals Tottenham this Sunday?
"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," remarked football specialist Chris Sutton.
"The Spurs manager will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this season - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still manage to win."
The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this term, versus AI, fans and a range of special visitors.
For week 12, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.
Murs' new record, Knees Up, is available on Friday.
Football and Parenting Experiences
Olly is a skilled footballer as well as a accomplished singer and has been a featured player of several Soccer Aid games down the years - but he is not intending a serious comeback as a player.
"{I actually played in a charity game the other night for a friend of mine," he said. "The team was losing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!
"I continue to love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it seriously again.
"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my daughter or boy chooses to play instead."
Murs and his spouse his partner have a young family, Madison and their son, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their manager.
"I won't push football on our kids but I've already told my wife that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be coaching their Saturday football team," he added.
"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously was involved with a football club for a while too.
"My father did it with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I inherited it. He managed our side for several years and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"
Top Division Predictions
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
Chelsea might have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's return from fitness issues but their attack is already more potent with Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.
I still think this fixture will be quite tight, though. Burnley are disciplined and their only at Turf Moor losses so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.
It smells of a one-all tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose the London side to edge it for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.
Sutton's forecast: 1-2
Olly's prediction: The Blues will be superior. 1-3
AI's outlook: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Cherries have lost their past two games - albeit both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which shocked me.
On the other hand, the Hammers won back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at home, they appear competitive again.
The Hammers' only away win this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in August, when West Ham boss Nuno was previously Forest manager.
Therefore, what on earth do I predict here - can the Hammers continuing their run under their manager, or the home side responding?
I am going to choose the Cherries, because I think what happened against Villa was a anomaly.
The pundit's prediction: 2-0
Olly's prediction: The home team are performing strongly but West Ham have improved under their boss. 2-2
AI's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for relegation before the campaign began, but they have impressed a few people under their manager and are in fine fettle with three in their last four matches.
A family member told me to select Brentford striker Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.
Thiago will likely find the net again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to select him or support the away side at Amex Stadium.
They have not had much success on the travel this season, and Brighton are always decent at home. The visitors will try to hit them on the break but I think Fabian Hurzeler's side pose much more of a threat.
The analyst's forecast: 2-1
Olly's prediction: It could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a many goals but it actually turns out to be rather close. 1-1
The computer's outcome: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
This is a huge game for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six matches.
Fulham have got plenty of talent in their team but it nonetheless seems like they could be dragged into a drop zone fight.
Regarding Sunderland, indeed they are the unexpected success of the top flight campaign so far.
The away side's performance in the two-all tie with the Gunners last time out was superb. We've not seen any other team disrupt the Gunners like that this season, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.
The logical choice would be to back the Black Cats here, because they are clearly able of roughing Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they defeated the Blues at the end of October.
However I am not going to do that. Rather, I really need to carry on going against the away team with my predictions. I am taking a lot of credit for their good outcomes because they clearly enjoy to prove me wrong.
Considering the home side's home form, the sole team they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Marco Silva's side will be extremely eager for a positive outcome, so I am going to predict they will pick up three points.
Sutton's forecast: 1-0
The guest's prediction: I know the visitors are performing strongly and additionally that Fulham are on a bad run... but they have nonetheless been decent at home this season. 2-0
AI's outlook: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
It is a tough fixture to call. Liverpool have lost seven of their past 10 games in all competitions, but could they be one of the teams who benefit from the {international break|
