The British player made it to the third stage in three Grand Slam tournaments Grand Slams this year.

The British tennis star Emma Raducanu has withdrawn from her remaining competitions of the year as a result of a health issue that has affected her in recent days.

Raducanu, aged 22 was scheduled to compete in events in Asia but opted to return home to regain her health before starting next year's training.

These plans are set to feature trainer Francisco Roig, as the pair have decided to continue collaborating for the upcoming season.

She had her blood pressure taken while playing the initial match with Ann Li in the Wuhan tournament and retired when trailing 6-1 4-1 on a very muggy occasion.

Another medical visit was necessary a doctor's assessment at the Ningbo Open this week, where she lost in three sets to Chinese wildcard Zhu Lin in the first round.

Raducanu was also moving with clear difficulty in the third set versus Zhu because of back discomfort that has troubled her during parts of the season.

Those results followed a positive campaign, in which Raducanu rose into the international top 30 after more than three years in more than three years, concluded with three straight losses.

The athlete was close to victory with three match points before losing to American player Jessica Pegula in round three in last month's Beijing event.

She secured 28 matches this year and reached the semi-finals in the Washington tournament, but her most impressive week was at the Miami Open in March.

The British number one reached the quarter-finals of the WTA 1000 event, beating eighth seed Emma Navarro on the way before losing in a three-set match to the world number four Pegula.

She worked with trainer Mark Petchey between Miami and Wimbledon, with Francisco Roig stepping in for the US Open.

The initial agreement with Rafael Nadal's former coach was for the remainder of the year but the collaboration persists, with planned training sessions late this year.

She mentioned that the trial session with Roig post-Wimbledon was like a "covert operation" as the meeting was kept under wraps.

She came very close to beating world number one Aryna Sabalenka at the first competition with Roig in Cincinnati during August.

Roig joined her in New York, where she reached the third round then falling to 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina.
