Beloved Performer Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Famed For Appearances in The Middle and Friends, Dies at Age 60.

Stateside actor Finn, who appeared in popular television series like "Friends", "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has passed away aged 60.

The skilled improv artist succumbed at his home in LA on Monday having undergone cancer treatment from 2022 onward, as reported by news outlets.

"He considered no one a stranger - only friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones said in a message.

They added that he had "lived his life fully - with joy and exuberance".

An Extensive TV Career

His initial on-screen part was on the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he appeared as the titular character's brother.

He also had a repeating character on "Murphy Brown" in the latter half of the 1990s.

He appeared as Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a social organizer famous for delegating tedious tasks to his guests.

In the late 1990s and early 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on a variety of hit series, such as:

  • "King of Queens"
  • "Friends"
  • That '70s Show
  • House, M.D.

He was most recognized for playing Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight series from 2011 to 2018.

His work in movies are It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.

Off-Screen Life

Outside of his television work, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.

He was involved with a six-member improv team known as Beer Shark Mice.

"He taught, supported, and inspired many learners during his career and it would be difficult to find anyone who has anything negative to say about him," his loved ones expressed.

Offering condolences, fellow actor actor Richard Kind said there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, grounded individual you could encounter".

"Perpetually optimistic, helping you be funnier and better. A great dad, a great guy," Kind wrote publicly.

Finn is survived by his wife Donna, his children, and his family.
